The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and the supreme authority for the faith, worship, doctrine, and practice of 1st Free Will Baptist Church of Park Hills.
Consisting of the Old and New Testaments, Scripture reveals God’s character, His work in creation and redemption, His plan of salvation through Jesus Christ, and His will for the lives of His people.
We believe the Bible is God’s authoritative revelation to humanity and our only rule of faith and practice.
The Foundation of Everything We Believe #
Scripture is not simply one of several important documents guiding our church. It is the ultimate authority by which all other documents, doctrines, policies, and practices must be understood and evaluated.
Our Constitution, Bylaws, Mission Statement, and the Free Will Baptist Treatise all find their proper foundation in the Word of God.
As affirmed in Article III, Item 4 of our Church Constitution, the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are recognized as the Word of God and our only rule of faith and practice.
Why Scripture Matters #
The Bible provides the foundation for:
- Our Faith: What we believe about God, humanity, sin, salvation, and eternal life.
- Our Worship: How we glorify God individually and as a congregation.
- Our Discipleship: How we grow in Christlikeness and obey the teachings of Jesus.
- Our Ministry: How we serve others, proclaim the gospel, and fulfill the Great Commission.
- Our Church Governance: How we organize, lead, and conduct the affairs of the local church.
- Our Daily Lives: How we pursue holiness, love others, and faithfully follow Christ.
